Upcoming Classes at Scrap Your World!!!

We have a busy line up of classes coming your way over the next few weeks!!

For starters, due to the hectic week we have had, we are postponing Christine Campbell's layout class to Sat, Dec 11 from 2-4pm. Cost for this class is $25. There are still a few spots left so sign up today! For this class all you need is a paper trimmer, adhesive, 1 vertical picture and 1 horizontal picture.

On Saturday, Nov 27, Christine Campbell will be teaching a December Daily Album class. The class will cost for this class is $40 and you will be making an album to record all the happenings of your Holiday Season, from Dec 1-25. For this class you will need scissors, paper trimmer, crop-o-dile if you have one, adhesive (liquid, and glue dots).

Cindy Stevens will be teaching a Beginner Class on Wednesday, December 1 from 6:30-9pm. The first part of this class she will explain the basics of scrapbooking and introduce you to a few "tools of the trade" before walking you through a one-page layout and a simple card. All you will need for this class is a 4x6 picture, adhesive and scissors if you have them. A paper trimmer will be available for class use.

We also have 2 more classes in the works: a gorgeous mini album made from 1 sheet of cardstock, and a gingerbread house mini album. Stay tuned for details on those!!

Did you know?? When you register for a class at Scrap Your World, you receive some "thank you" perks? It's true!! Also, if we use a tool in class that we don't have in stock but you would like to buy it we will order it for you for a 50% deposit!

Upcoming Card Class!!

We are busy busy busy setting up our classes for November and December. So far we have a Layout Class coming up on November 20 from 2-4pm, and now we can add a Cards Class by Christine Campbell to the list as well!

The date of this class is being held on Saturday, Dec 4, from 2pm-4:30pm. Pre-registration is required by Dec 1, but book your spot early as space is limited. The cost for this class will be $30 and you will walk away with 4 beautiful cards at the end of the class. Most supplies are included for this class, but you will need to bring the following items if you have them: paper cutter, sharp scissors, bone folder, corner rounder, glue dots, and a glue gun (we will supply the hot glue)

1 Month Already??

Have we really been open a whole month? In the same way it feels like we've been here forever. Funny how time does that isn't it? Flies but yet feels like it doesn't move lol

Our Grand Opening was a great success! Thanks everyone for making us feel so welcome!

We have classes that will be starting this month as well! There are two wonderful, talented women who are willing to share their knowledge with you: Christine Campbell and Cindy Stevens. Welcome aboard ladies, can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Christine's first class is a Layout Class using some Cosmo Cricket products and the new I-Rock tool! This class will be held on Saturday, November 13 from 2-4pm. Preregistration is required. The cost is $25 and must be paid by Nov 10, 2010. For this class you will need your scrapbooking basics: cutting tools, adhesive of your choice and 2 pictures-preferably 1 horizontal 5x7 and a vertical 4x6, but any size is workable. This class is suitable for beginner to intermediate scrapbookers. Register now while space lasts! Below is a sample of what you will be doing.

It's hard to believe we've been open for almost 3 weeks now! In that time I have met some wonderful people too!

Week One

Well we are officially OPEN!! We opened our doors on Oct 4 and had a great first week!!

I must say a special Thank You to my Aunt Janet for helping us out by working for me on Thursday and Friday so that I could be home with my boys while they were enjoying a looong weekend from school.

This week we will be super busy gearing up for our Grand Opening!! We are so excited to be open we're celebrating over 2 days: Friday Oct 15, and Saturday Oct 16. So come on down and celebrate with us! The details are in the flyer above. See you there!!

The day had FINALLY arrived!!! The shelves are being moved over to the store today, my opening stock is being delivered today too!

Finally!

I can finally share with you just exactly WHERE I will be opening!!!

Scrap Your World will be sharing a space with Trish's Crafty Corner (a yarn store that will be opening with me!) at 77 Catherwood St, on the West Side of Saint John. We are right next door to Game Zilla.

We will be opening in early October-so please don't rush out just yet! ;)
There will be a space for you to come and scrapbook with us too! I am working on setting up some classes as well-so be sure to stay tuned for that!

Quick update!

Hello! It's been a bit since I've updated the blog. There isn't really a whole lot to let you know about at this point. There are a few things in motion now that I will be letting you know about, and asking for your help with in the next couple of weeks, though-so please stay tuned!!

My class is halfway over-we graduate June 22, 2010! I'm planning on having the store open by mid-September. I know, I know-why so long? Well, I want to have everything as close to perfect as I can before I open, of course!
I'm 95% sure I have my location, but I'll be keeping that a secret for now, until it's 100% ;)

Things that make you go Hmmm

I haven't written anything in a while. In a way that means there isn't much to tell! This is a loooooong process. I'm still doing my class-which is such an awesome class too! We are learning lots, but it's mostly just things to do with our business plans, rather than getting things in motion. I guess in a way you could call it "The calm before the storm" lol

I do know that I will be needing help from my future customers sometime in the near future. All completely anonymous of course :)

I just thought I had better write something so that you knew it was still going good! :)

Big Announcement!!!

Hello everyone, and thank you for checking out my Blog!]
Some of my friends may already know this, but for the rest of you:
I am in the process of opening a Scrapbooking Store in SAINT JOHN NB!!!! And all of you, my wonderful followers, will get to hear about it as I go!

Right now it's still in the planning stages, with tentative opening as Summer 2010. This could change, but I will keep you posted! :)

This has been a LONG process so far (as many of my close friends and family know!) but it is now officially "in the works"

I am taking a class with a small group of women, all with their own wonderful business ideas called Enterprising Women. We are being taught step by step on how to start up a business, starting with researching for our Business Plans. It's an amazing class, and at the end we will all be in the process of opening, or possibly even already open!

So it was suggested to me that I start a Blog to keep people in the loop!

As I get further along in the planning stages, I may be asking for help from you, my future customers! :)
